Anthony as a Methodist who spent two days at Pendle Hill for a United Women in Faith retreat and being with Friends and attending a morning worship for the first time I felt the kinship and commonalities. Beautiful post. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3571146151683416940.post-20318048013554801392023-04-08T11:55:59.418-07:002023-04-08T11:55:59.418-07:00Rhonda. If you can read the last 3 paragraphs, starting with William Penn, you will see that Anthony is saying exactly that.Trevorhttps://nontheist-quakers.org.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3571146151683416940.post-60238157402705491822019-03-09T09:11:52.837-08:002019-03-09T09:11:52.837-08:00I hope you are not saying that unconverted Muslims...I hope you are not saying that unconverted Muslims, Jews and Buddhists are going to heaven. Now in 'retirement and an occasional visitor to the local meeting house, I am preparing a talk in response to an invitation and your reflections have been more than a little helpful. E...From a Quaker Methodist to a Methodist Quaker... Excellent Comparison! :) Whether we label it Inner Light or Prevenient Grace... the unconditional, healing, loving, guiding, presence of God is active in the hearts of everyone. Wesley Methodists have a "method" of accepting, experiencing and sharing the Love of God..."Growing in Grace". This "Means of Grace" includes: baptism, communion, worship, bible study, prayer, personal reflection and service to others. Quakers keep it simple: In the silence, the inner connection with God is experienced... through service to others, God becomes visible. We are indeed Kindred Spirits, thank you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
