I had no place to crash so I went to the Newman Center on campus, sat on a chair on the porch, and said the following prayer to God before going to sleep: "Please protecte me." A hour later, I was awakened by police officers pointing their flashlights and guns at me. At that moment, I said the most amazing and appropriate thing: "Boy, am I glad to see you." The police lowered their guns and decided I was probably not a killer. They questioned me, I told them all about my spiritual journey, and they took me to the local Jesus people house where I spent the night and had a nice breakfast. I believe my response was divinely inspired. I know it worked!
LA Quakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11084465501021443492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3571146151683416940.post-27820052291315954022013-05-09T08:43:56.782-07:002013-05-09T08:43:56.782-07:00Your picture takes me back to the Jesus People in ...Your picture takes me back to the Jesus People in 1970, because with your Samson hair you look somewhat like the leader of the Christian rock group "Saving Faith".:-)in Costa Mesa or Huntington Beach, California.

As for "will you still need me...when i'm 64," I crawled past that mark 2 years ago, and given life's struggles, the answer is debatable.

Thanks for sharing of how your faith and faith community continues to live out Christ's way, gives you hope and that hope splashes out and blesses others.

There's a lot more that your blog has swirled up in me to write about, but I know this is a comment section, not a discussion list:-)

DanielDaniel Wilcoxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05178375087492786696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3571146151683416940.post-65795496015297900682013-05-09T06:51:27.477-07:002013-05-09T06:51:27.477-07:00Awesome!
