Presenters

A nationally recognized and leading voice on the issue of homelessness, Anne Miskey, who formerly served as CEO at the Downtown Women’s Center, currently serves as director of Union Station,  the San Gabriel Valley's largest and most comprehensive    social service agency assisting homeless and very low-income people. During the Obama administration, she was invited to speak at the White House and has worked closely with the federal departments of Housing and Urban Development, Health and  Human Services, Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Labor to champion support for vulnerable families and individuals in the areas of housing, health, and employment.
The Safe Parking Subcommittee of MHCH was started to establish a “Safe Parking” program in the San Gabriel Valley area. Typically, Safe Parking is a free 12-hour night-time parking program for people living in their vehicles. These vehicle dwellers represent over 25% of the population of people experiencing homelessness in LA County. The goal of MHCH’s Safe Parking program is to provide not only safe parking but also the case management needed for those experiencing homelessness to find jobs and supportive housing (PSH). PSH is what ends homelessness.
